CELPIDRUM are: pianist Luca Milani, cellist Riccardo Bortolaso and drummer Guerrino dal Lago. Their origins rooted in classical music, as much as modern rock and fusion, in 2014 these three talented musicians and composers formed the trio CELPIDRUM featuring original pieces of instrumental music that purely rely on acoustic instruments for performances and recordings.
In November of the same year they released a promo CD simply titled “MMXV” and in December 2016 their first album: “Proxima Centauri B”. The style might well be described as a melodious confluence of diverse musical trends in which piano, cello and drums combine to give rise to original and creative soundscapes.
The acoustic nature of the trio and the inherent strength of the repertoire allow Celpidrum to perform in spaces of various sizes, from cozier venues to larger theaters.

"The music of Celpidrum is a sound path of strong emotional impact, powered by stylistic contrasts of light and dark, high and low, fast and slow, softness and roughness, lightness and depth, movement and stasis, rhytmic tension and release. The acoustic band obtains this result using compositional structures rooted in European classical tradition: key changes, review of the sonata forms, constant reference to the melody, weaving of harmonies, rapid and often extreme dynamics. Not a review of the classical music indeed. Drums move the compositional axis toward contemporary rhytmic structures, mixing cello and piano in a modern music and familiar level. We can say, there is Beethoven but you cannot hear him, you can hear David Bowie but there is not."
